An Open Book!

Government's are investing more than ever before on educating their citizens, eager for them to compete in the global workforce. Employers are looking for a new sort of colleague, someone with the skills to flourish in this century. Combined with technologies that continue to develop at breakneck speed, the result is a world that has the want, & the means, to learn at scale. Yet there is so much to be done.

It is time we stop focusing on making people learn facts, instead education should focus on helping people grow as individuals, to help them open mind to many different things that they haven't been exposed to before. Education should be based on flexibility of mind, by helping build social skills, problem solving skills, decision making skills, creative thinking skills, etc.

The true essence of education is to teach people the skills to collaborate with different cultures, religions & thought processes, that they may never have been exposed to otherwise. It should provide a stepping stone to the real world, offering courses on personal development, life planning, time management, financial management, resourcefulness, etc

The importance of moral values and character development must be emphasised, in-order to bring a sense of righteousness & diminish discrimination & assaults of various kinds from within the society.

To develop the skill of working well under pressure without compromising on integrity is a valuable piece of knowledge. Skills of time management plays a vital role, for it includes not only respecting time but also understanding it's value in your own life as well as others. Time is a crucial factor. Moreover, education should give you a sense of self and develop in people the dignity to take responsibility for their actions.

Education is the process of learning & knowing, which should not be restricted to school text-books. It is a holistic process & continues through our life from everyday happenings & events, provided we care to notice & learn from our surroundings & not let our ego's interfere in accepting our mistakes & correcting them for good. Education should help people to believe in themselves, so that they are ready to take on the world.
